Hyundai Motor (Thailand) welcomes new President Mr. Yoshiaki Ichimura and prepares to establish Hyundai as top-tier brand in the Kingdom of Thailand.


Hyundai Motor (Thailand), the sole importer and distributor of Hyundai vehicles in Thailand, is ready to expand the Hyundai network further in Thailand to highlight the latest concept of “New Thinking. New Possibilities.” Following the coming of the new company’s President Yoshiaki Ichimura. Mr. Ichimura will succeed Mr. Yoshizumi Kurata, who has been appointed to the top post in the Automotive Division at Sojitz Corporation Japan.

Mr. Kurata’s new responsibility involves spearheading core global automotive businesses under Sojitz umbrella, which include Hyundai Motor (Thailand). He has established strong presence for Hyundai cars in Thailand only after three years when the company was tasked by Hyundai Motor Company to revive Hyundai business in the Kingdom. Achievement includes beyond-projected sales performance for two consecutive years has contributed to an excellent profile for the Hyundai’s operation here, where there are now more than 5,000 new Hyundai vehicles on the road.

Mr. Yoshiaki Ichimura, the newly appointed President of Hyundai Motor (Thailand), arrives with extensive experience in overseas automobile industry and over 34 years in the automotive business. Hyundai Motor (Thailand), which is a cooperation between Sojitz Corporation of Japan and Hyundai Motor Company is expected to enter the new era of recognition under Mr. Ichimura’s leadership during the 2nd phase of its operation.

Mr. Ichimura, 56 years of age, was the Senior Vice President of Machinery Division and Senior General Manager, automotive Unit at Sojitz Corporation before coming to Hyundai Motor (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
