BMW Thailand has announced that it will make the debut of the BMW X1 SAV, the recently awarded "Off-Road of the Year" in the crossover segment, at the 31st Bangkok International Motor Show during 26 March-6 April 2010.

It delivers superb power output of 177 hp and 350 Nm of torque flat in the 1,750-3,000 rpm band. It sprints 0-100 km/h within just 8.3 seconds, yet with average fuel economy of 16.9 km/l and average CO2 emission of merely 155 g/km, according to the EU test cycle.

Crossover Concept
Versatile, Sporty and Elegant Design
Born with the concept of ‘sporty yet elegant’ Crossover concept, the BMW X1 SAV features a harmonized combination of typical SAV characters (such as robust design, extra ground clearance, elevated seating position) and sporty performance tourer characters (such as short overhangs, long wheelbase and ground-hugging stance). This uniquely innovative concept is translated into the perfect proportion and into each and every detail of its sporty yet elegant design. The Crossover BMW X1 has a stretched proportion characterizing its sportiness: 4.45 meters in length, a long wheelbase of 2.76 meters, long bonnet, low-raked rear window and slightly sloping roof line. Nevertheless, it harmoniously integrates the genuine BMW X characters such as almost-squared muscular wheel arches, striking surfaces, slender protection trim around the lower part of the body, and the upright BMW kidney grille.

The characters of dynamic sporty Crossover are integrated into the sophisticated functional interior design. The elevated seating position so typical of a BMW X model allows easy access to the car, at the same time giving the driver an optimized overview of traffic conditions and, as a result, outstanding supremacy at the wheel. The special design of the centre console and the dashboard area around the cockpit offers an appropriate reinterpretation of the driver orientation so typical of a BMW.

BMW X1 sDrive20d comes the 4-cylinder 2.0-liter Advanced Diesel power unit with variable turbo charging system, producing maximum output of 177 horsepower and maximum torque of 350 Newton-meter from 1,750 to 3,000 rpm. Transmitting its superb power via the 6-speed automatic gearbox, the BMW X1 sDrive20d accelerates from standstill to 100 kilometers per hour within just 8.3 seconds. Thanks to the superior BMW EfficientDynamics technology such as the Advanced Diesel technology, the Brake Energy Re-generation, the on-demand oil and water pumps and the advanced aerodynamics, the BMW X1 sDrive20d achieved the best-in-class fuel economy of 16.9 kilometers per liter and CO2 emission of merely 155 grams per kilometer.
